Use what you've got !

Using What You've got and Making the BEST of it

The other night I was talking on the phone with my older sister. I had a trying day teaching my two year old to use the potty. I felt as though I failed as a mom because I set a goal and was unable to stick to my plan in order to accomplish it. Yes, I know that potty training is not done it one day. I was not disappointed in my daughter yet myself for getting upset. She is two and very strong willed. So this is why I called my sister. I have never felt so uplifted by a fellow mother. She is so encouraging and supportive. She did not tell me what to do just gave me a fresh perspective on the whole situation. This brings me to my title, I'm taking what I've got (one amazingly wise sibling) and making the best of it. Yes she does live over 900 miles away but who said we can't be the best of friends.

This lesson trickles into many other aspects of my life as well. It's great to know that I am taking what I have and making the best of it. I can still set goals and have agenda's yet remember to give it to God. It's all in his time. Giving the agenda to Him and trusting in the Holy Spirit to guide me feels like a weight has been lifted. I feel less stressed.
